The Aryavarth Express New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital late Tuesday night and is currently in stable condition, hospital authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
Hospital Chairman Dr Ajay Swaroop said Sonia Gandhi was admitted at around 10:22 PM. Doctors are conducting tests to check for possible stomach and urinary tract infections, while a team of specialists is closely monitoring her condition and administering antibiotics.
According to the hospital, Sonia Gandhi was brought in after experiencing respiratory issues. Following a detailed examination, doctors noted that her bronchial asthma had mildly worsened due to a combination of cold weather and high pollution levels in Delhi. As a precaution, she has been kept under observation for further medical management.
The veteran leader had also been hospitalised in June last year for stomach-related issues and was treated under the gastro department. Earlier that month, she underwent a routine health check-up at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, where doctors had confirmed her condition to be stable.
Medical teams continue to monitor her health, and further updates are awaited.
