Mumbai— A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight from Mumbai was briefly held up on Tuesday following a reported security threat. According to an IndiGo spokesperson, flight 6E 762 underwent a thorough inspection before being cleared for further operations.
“A security threat was reported on IndiGo flight 6E 762 operating from Mumbai to Delhion September 30. As per established protocols, authorities were immediately alerted, and the aircraft was subjected to all necessary security checks. It was later cleared for operations,” the spokesperson said.
This incident follows a similar case earlier this month. On September 19, IndiGo flight 6E 1089, en route from Mumbai to Phuket, was diverted to Chennai due to a reported security threat. The airline confirmed that authorities were promptly informed and the aircraft was inspected upon arrival.
“In line with protocol, the flight was diverted to Chennai for security checks. Due to the night curfew at Phuket Airport, the onward journey was rescheduled for later in the night,” IndiGo said in a statement. “We are making every effort to reduce passenger inconvenience, providing refreshments and regular updates. The safety of our passengers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority.”
In another recent event, on September 14, IndiGo flight 6E 2111 from Lucknow to Delhi encountered a technical snag just before takeoff. The aircraft was safely brought back to the bay and all passengers were disembarked without incident. The airline arranged an alternative aircraft to complete the journey.
IndiGo continues to emphasize strict adherence to safety and security protocols in response to such occurrences.
