The Aryavarth Express Kerala: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday inaugurated the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) regional election office in Ernakulam-Kochi, marking a key step in the alliance’s preparations for the upcoming Kerala Legislative Assembly elections 2026. Senior leaders from the BJP and other NDA partners attended the event, signalling a united front.
Addressing the gathering, Kiren Rijiju said, “Kerala has long lacked a government capable of fully harnessing its potential. This new NDA office in Ernakulam-Kochi is a great beginning for our work. As the NDA, we are united, and we are committed to bringing brighter days for the people of Kerala.”
Kiren Rijiju highlighted the gap between central government initiatives and local benefits, saying, “The people of Kerala have seen minimal benefits from the Prime Minister’s programmes because the state has not had a conducive government. The long alternation of LDF and UDF governments has failed to deliver real progress. The NDA offers a credible alternative to realise the vision of development for Kerala.”
Meanwhile, the BJP officially launched its campaign for the Kerala Assembly elections from the Nemom constituency. Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated the campaign by writing the slogan “Nammukku Vendum Vikasistha Nemom” (“We Need a Developed Nemom”) on a wall, signalling the start of party outreach in the area.
Earlier this month, BJP National President Nitin Nabin criticised both the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and United Democratic Front (UDF), accusing them of slowing Kerala’s development and undermining Sanatana Dharma. Speaking at the Booth Presidents’ Conference in Karukutty, Ernakulam, he said the state’s youth were prevented from contributing fully to development but added that Kerala is now at a turning point, with the NDA poised to lead transformative change.
