The Aryavarth Express Jaipur (Rajasthan): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday welcomed the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, describing it as a strong roadmap for building a self-reliant and developed India by 2047.
Addressing the media, Sharma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the Budget goes beyond a financial document, reflecting a clear commitment to economic growth, inclusivity, and national development. He said the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” has now been translated into concrete policy.
The Chief Minister said the Budget focuses on accelerating economic growth by improving productivity and competitiveness while strengthening the country’s ability to navigate changing global circumstances. He added that empowering citizens and building their capabilities is central to India’s journey towards prosperity.
Sharma highlighted that the Budget aims to ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities across communities, states, and regions. He said India’s projected growth rate of around 7 per cent reflects the country’s rapid progress on the path of development and transformation.
Calling it a people-centric Budget, Sharma said it places special emphasis on youth, women, farmers, the underprivileged, and the poor. He noted that provisions related to employment generation, skill development, and startup promotion would benefit young people across the country.
He also welcomed initiatives such as training one lakh professionals in sectors including radiology and optometry, expanded skill development programmes, and training for tourist guides through premier institutions like the IIMs, which he said would help boost incomes in the tourism sector.
The Chief Minister said the establishment of content creator labs in schools and colleges reflects a forward-looking approach, while measures aimed at women’s empowerment—including support for women entrepreneurs, safety initiatives, and hostel facilities—would strengthen their economic participation.
Sharma further noted that increased focus on agriculture, irrigation infrastructure, and market access would help enhance farmers’ incomes. He said the Budget also underscores India’s ambition to emerge as a global manufacturing and technology hub.
Highlighting initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, the National Quantum Mission, and other research and innovation programmes, Sharma said these measures would boost high-tech manufacturing and attract foreign investment.
Referring to Rajasthan’s industrial potential, he invited investors to take advantage of the state’s industrial corridors and investment-friendly policies. Sharma concluded by saying that the Budget lays a strong foundation for sustained growth and reinforces India’s position among the world’s fastest-growing economies.
