The Aryavarth Express
New Delhi: South of Gurugram’s bustling Golf Course Extension Road, the landscape gradually shifts from dense high-rises to sweeping green views of the Aravalli hills. It is here, across Sectors 11 and 14 in Sohna, that Raheja Developers is developing Aranya City, a next-generation, self-sustained smart township spread across nearly 200 acres.
Billed as Haryana’s first privately developed smart green township, Aranya City has received a Gold Rating from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The project aims to move beyond conventional plotted developments and create a sustainable living ecosystem with minimal environmental impact.
Engineering Sustainability Into Daily Living
At Aranya City, “green” is integrated into the township’s core infrastructure. The project targets zero environmental discharge through a multilayered system that includes:
Township-wide rooftop solar power generation
Optional solar systems for individual homes
Extensive rainwater harvesting
Wastewater treatment and recycling for landscaping and flushing
Raheja has partnered with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for infrastructure development. The plan includes double-layer stone-paved roads, underground electrical cabling, a central monitoring system, over 10,000 planned trees, cycling tracks, and electric golf carts for internal mobility.
A Mini-City With Complete Social Infrastructure
Designed as a fully self-sustained urban hub, the township includes zones for:
Schools and educational institutions
Hospitals and nursing homes
Retail markets and commercial spaces
Senior living quarters
A mix of plots, apartments, penthouses, and villas
A large clubhouse with a gym, swimming pool, spa, tennis and badminton courts anchors the community. Nearby institutions like GD Goenka University add to the educational ecosystem.
Connectivity With Peace
Despite its serene setting, Aranya City is strategically placed about 15 minutes from Gurugram’s periphery, with easy access to the KMP Expressway. It is also located near major upcoming economic hubs, including the proposed $5 billion HSIIDC joint industrial township and the 1,700-acre IMT Sohna, which are expected to boost job opportunities and enhance investment returns.
Early investors say property values have appreciated three to four times since launch. Many highlight the tranquil environment, Aravalli views, and visible on-ground progress in infrastructure and security.
A Blueprint for Future Urban Living
Aranya City marks an ambitious attempt to fuse sustainable design with modern conveniences—an approach that is increasingly influencing homebuyers and developers alike. While its long-term success will unfold over time, the township already stands out as a model for future-ready, environmentally integrated urban development.
