During the meeting, the leaders discussed the election outcomes in detail. Priyanka Gandhi congratulated CM Reddy on the Congress party’s strong performance in the civic polls.
CM Reddy, in a post on X, stated, “I met with AICC National General Secretary and MP Smt. Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi today. We discussed the results of the municipal elections in the state. Smt. Priyanka Gandhi expressed her happiness over the grand victory achieved by the Congress Party and extended her congratulations. I told her that the people are satisfied with the welfare and development programmes being implemented by the state government, which is why they have given a massive victory to the Congress Party.”
The recent municipal elections in Telangana sent a significant political message, with Congress recording strong performances across several municipalities and municipal corporations. Analysts view the results as an endorsement of CM Revanth Reddy’s governance approach, particularly in urban centres.
The elections, conducted across multiple urban local bodies, witnessed enthusiastic voter participation, highlighting increased civic engagement. Early counting trends showed Congress candidates leading in a majority of wards, while opposition parties Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remained competitive in select pockets.
