Agency (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Monday that the elimination of mafia influence in the state has paved the way for significant investments in the Purvanchal region, promising numerous job opportunities for local youth. Addressing a public meeting in Mohammadabad, Adityanath also emphasized preparations for developments in Mathura following the projects in Ayodhya and Kashi.

Supporting Neeraj Shekhar, the BJP candidate for the Ballia Lok Sabha seat, Adityanath took a swipe at the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of neglecting the poor and protecting criminals. He stated, “After Ayodhya and Kashi, we are preparing to head towards Mathura.”

Paying tribute to the late Krishna Anand Rai, Adityanath highlighted his dedication to the development of Mohammadabad and lamented that leaders like Rai fell victim to mafia violence, often under the previous SP government. He criticized the SP and Congress for failing to protect backward caste leaders and instead harboring criminals like Mukhtar Ansari.

Referring to past atrocities, Adityanath said, “Was Pooja Pal’s husband Raju Pal and Jaya Pal’s husband Umesh Pal in Prayagraj not from backward castes? Their resolve was to kill the poor’s sons, and ours is to eradicate the mafias.”

He praised Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in realizing the aspirations of past leaders like Krishna Anand Rai and former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar. Adityanath highlighted Modi’s influence, stating, “Today, wherever we go in the country, we encounter the same sentiment and determination. People are saying, ‘Fir Ek Baar Modi Sarkaar, Abki Baar, 400 Paar’.”

Adityanath underscored the developmental strides in Azamgarh, credited to MP Nirahua, including the establishment of an airport, a university, the Purvanchal Expressway, a medical college, a nursing college, and a music college. “When competent individuals are elected, development naturally follows,” he noted.

Hitting out at the opposition, Yogi criticized the Congress’s manifesto, claiming it would roll back women’s rights by implementing personal laws akin to Sharia and imposing an inheritance tax. He likened the tax proposal to Aurangzeb’s Jizya tax, warning against a return to such practices.

Concluding his address, Adityanath highlighted India’s enhanced global respect and secure borders under Modi’s leadership. He claimed, “Terrorism and Naxalism have been eradicated. If even a firecracker goes off loudly, Pakistan feels compelled to offer an explanation.”

Adityanath emphasized the distribution of free rations to 80 crore people and Modi’s success in lifting millions out of poverty, further solidifying the BJP’s development and security agenda ahead of the elections.
