Tripura Chief Minister Accuses Opposition CPI(M) of Using “Terror Tactics”

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha accuses the opposition CPI(M) of using "terror tactics" to rule the state. He advocates for BJP's commitment to the welfare of all.

New Delhi (Agency): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist), also known as CPI(M), of using “terror tactics” to govern the state. Speaking at an election rally, he praised his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for its commitment to the welfare of all people, irrespective of their background.

“Wherever the CPI(M) has been in power, be it West Bengal, Kerala or Tripura, it used terror tactics to rule the people,” Saha stated. He also claimed that the CPI(M) has often created a climate of fear in the lead-up to elections, aiming to influence voters through intimidation.

According to Saha, the situation in Tripura has improved dramatically under BJP rule. “Now, peace has returned to Tripura after several years of bloodshed. The insurgency problem no longer exists,” he explained. Taking advantage of this peaceful environment, he said the BJP-led government is focusing on the well-being of its citizens.

The Chief Minister called on people to support BJP candidate Tappajal Hussain in the upcoming by-election in the Boxanagar constituency. “The candidate is from your community who can take care of your needs,” he said. Saha expressed that a win for their candidate would be a milestone, allowing him to report to the Prime Minister that the BJP’s symbol, the lotus, is “blooming in Boxanagar too.”

Boxanagar is a seat that has been traditionally held by the CPI(M) and has a significant minority population. The by-election has been called following the death of CPI(M) MLA Samsul Haque.

Manik Saha concluded his speech by reiterating the BJP’s motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’—which translates to “with all, development for all.” He emphasized that there should be “no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, and religion.”
