New Delhi (Agency): Sonia Gandhi, a senior leader of the Congress party, will attend the upcoming meeting of the INDIA Alliance in Mumbai. The meeting will take place on August 31 and September 1 and is expected to unveil the alliance’s official logo. The gathering aims to shape the strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and will feature key leaders of over two dozen parties opposed to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Nana Patole, the president of the Congress party’s Maharashtra unit, confirmed Sonia Gandhi’s attendance. He mentioned that the meeting will focus on setting the agenda for the alliance ahead of the crucial 2024 elections. “Sonia Gandhi will attend the INDIA alliance meet in Mumbai,” Patole told reporters.

This meeting marks the third gathering of the anti-BJP bloc known as the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). The alliance was officially named during its second meeting, which took place in Bengaluru in July. The first meeting was held in June in Patna.

The INDIA Alliance has been created with the goal of challenging the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming parliamentary polls in 2024. The alliance consists of more than two dozen parties, making it a notable coalition in the Indian political landscape.

The decision of Sonia Gandhi to attend the meeting signifies the importance Congress is giving to this alliance. As one of the oldest and most prominent political parties in India, Congress’s participation is expected to give significant momentum to the INDIA Alliance.

The INDIA Alliance meeting is scheduled to be held in a luxury hotel in suburban Mumbai. During the meeting, apart from unveiling the official logo, discussions will center on a common platform and strategy for battling the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections.

The gathering is highly anticipated as it serves as a prelude to what could be one of the most fiercely contested elections in recent history. With key opposition figures joining hands and strategizing, the meeting in Mumbai will set the stage for the political battles to come.
