Sonia Gandhi Assures Fulfillment of ‘Guarantees’ by Telangana Congress Government

Sonia Gandhi pledges that the Congress government in Telangana, led by CM Revanth Reddy, will fulfill its promises to the people, including free travel for women and free power for the poor.

Agency (Telangana):Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Sunday assured that the party’s government in Telangana, under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, will leave no stone unturned to fulfill the ‘guarantees’ made to the people. Her video message was played at the 10th Telangana state formation day celebrations held at the Parade Grounds in Hyderabad.

Gandhi began her speech by paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood. She recalled her promise made in 2004 at Karimnagar that the Congress party would meet the people’s demand for a separate state. Despite facing dissent within the party and several members resigning, the determination of the people strengthened her resolve to achieve statehood.

Reflecting on the past decade, Gandhi expressed gratitude for the love and respect she has received from the people of Telangana. She emphasized her commitment to realizing the people’s dreams of a prosperous and developed Telangana and assured that the Revanth Reddy-led government would diligently fulfill its ‘guarantees’.

The Congress party’s poll ‘guarantees’ for Telangana include free travel for women on state-run buses, free power supply up to 200 units for the poor, and LPG cylinders for Rs 500. Gandhi also congratulated the people on the state’s progress.

Recently, the Telangana cabinet decided to invite Gandhi to the formation day celebrations. Although unable to attend in person due to health reasons, Gandhi’s video message was shared during the event.

At the celebration, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled the state song “Jaya Jaya he Telangana,” penned by noted poet Ande Sri, with music composed by Oscar-winning music director M.M. Keeravani. In his address, Reddy highlighted the government’s long-term plans for the state’s progress, including the “Green Telangana – 2050 Master Plan.”

Reddy, who unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade in an open jeep, reiterated the government’s commitment to building a strong foundation for future generations.
