Agency(Karnataka): With the Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, D K Shivakumar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), embarked on a spiritual journey to seek divine blessings. On Tuesday, he visited the revered Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple and Kukke Subrahmanya Temple in Dakshina Kannada, performing prayers and rituals.

Addressing the media at Dharmasthala, Shivakumar shared insights into his longstanding tradition of seeking spiritual guidance ahead of electoral battles. “Every election period, I come to seek Lord Manjunatha’s blessings. I believe in the power and grace of Lord Manjunatha, who has always blessed me,” he remarked, underlining his faith and the role it plays in his political endeavors.

Discussing the Congress party’s readiness for the upcoming elections, Shivakumar expressed confidence in the achievements and promises fulfilled by his party. “We have honored the five key guarantees we made to the electorate. Our actions reflect the commitments we made during the assembly elections. Now, it’s time for the people to strengthen our mandate. We believe our efforts, like facilitating free bus travel for women to pilgrimage sites, will resonate with the voters,” he said, highlighting the initiatives aimed at garnering support.

His visit wasn’t just a spiritual endeavor but also a moment to reassure the public of his party’s dedication to the welfare of Karnataka’s citizens. Shivakumar exuded confidence in the Congress party’s prospects in the state for the Lok Sabha elections, backed by the solid groundwork and policies implemented during their tenure.

On the topic of security concerns, specifically regarding suspected Naxal activities in the Subrahmanya area, Shivakumar assured that discussions with local officials and the Deputy Commissioner are underway to address any issues effectively.

As the Lok Sabha elections draw near, Shivakumar’s temple visits underscore a blend of personal faith and political strategy, aiming to bolster his and his party’s appeal among the electorate.
