Agency (New Delhi): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sheds light on his signature white T-shirt style, revealing it represents “transparency” and “simplicity.” In a more than two-minute video shared on the Congress social media channels, Gandhi answered rapid-fire questions about his attire and his stance on the significance of ideology.
The video titled “A day campaigning in Karnataka. Some light rapid fire questions and some very illustrious company” features Gandhi discussing his consistent T-shirt style, which he describes as his “trademark” since the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. He said, “Transparency and simplicity, and I just don’t care much about clothes. I prefer it (to be) simple.”
Gandhi also acknowledged the importance of ideology in political campaigns. He highlighted that as a large organization, clarity in ideology is crucial to securing public support. “We have to convince the people of our ideology which is pro-poor, pro-women, plural, treating everybody equally,” he emphasized.
He reiterated, “So the fight at an organizational level, at a national level, is always about ideology.”
When asked about the best part of campaigning, Gandhi humorously replied, “When it ends!” He explained that despite the campaign’s challenging nature, giving speeches helps him better understand the nation’s needs.
Gandhi also asked Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge about his views on the campaigning process. Kharge responded positively, stating, “There is nothing bad. It’s good because we are doing this for the country.” He emphasized the satisfaction of working to stop those “spoiling the country,” ensuring that their efforts are making a positive difference.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also made a brief appearance in the video, reiterating the importance of a clear and people-centered ideology.
