Agency(New Delhi): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi fiercely questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the electoral bond scheme, labeling it as India’s biggest ‘haftebaazi’ scheme and attributing its inception to Modi himself. During a press interaction in Wayanad, Gandhi accused the scheme of lacking transparency, questioning why participant identities are kept secret despite the Supreme Court’s inquiries for data release.

Gandhi’s critique extends to Modi’s broader political actions, which he perceives as diversion tactics from pressing national issues such as unemployment and inflation. He portrayed Modi as a figure primarily serving the interests of a handful of India’s wealthiest individuals, rather than addressing the broader needs of the nation.

He also commented on Modi’s recent ANI interview, suggesting that the Prime Minister was attempting to deflect attention from what he considers the largest global corruption scandal facilitated by the electoral bonds, purportedly benefiting the BJP with substantial financial contributions from Indian businessmen.

The Congress leader’s remarks were made while campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections in Wayanad, where he continued to challenge Modi’s policies and priorities, highlighting the disconnect he perceives between the government’s promises and their practical implications for the common people.
