PM Modi Criticizes Congress’s Election Rhetoric

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accuses Congress of promoting "vote jihad" and showing undue favoritism towards Pakistan, while questioning their commitment to India's national interests.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Madhya Pradesh): During a public rally in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a stern critique against the Congress party, labeling their campaign tactics as detrimental and accusing them of invoking “vote jihad” against him. Modi claimed that Congress’s approach deepens with each voting phase, allegedly displaying an increasing affinity towards Pakistan.

PM Modi argued that the Congress and the INDI alliance seem to disregard India’s religious beliefs and national interests. He expressed concern over the Congress urging specific religious groups to vote against him, questioning the appropriateness of such a strategy in a democratic setting.

The Prime Minister also chastised Congress leaders for their remarks that appeared sympathetic to Pakistan while disparaging the Indian Army. He cited instances where former Congress leaders portrayed Pakistan as blameless in contexts like the Mumbai terror attacks, and criticized the military actions of India’s army.

Amidst these political attacks, Modi appealed to the public to recognize the dangerous implications of Congress’s intentions. He relayed statements from former Congress members who left the party, alleging that they felt liberated from the oppressive environment within. These individuals described Congress as being influenced by extremist groups and opposed to nationalist policies, including one account claiming the party intended to overturn the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ram Temple—an action reminiscent of a past decision by a Congress leader.

As the election progresses, with polling underway for 93 Lok Sabha seats in the third phase, Modi urged the electorate to decide between supporting “vote jihad” or endorsing “Ram Rajya” as the future governing principle. The Khargone constituency is set to vote in the fourth phase on May 13. The national elections, spanning seven phases, will conclude on June 1, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
