Agency(Karnataka): Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed unwavering confidence that the Congress Party is poised to clinch victory in 20 out of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the upcoming elections. Addressing the media upon his arrival at Mysuru Airport, he underscored that unlike the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which boasts of winning all seats, the Congress Party’s optimism is grounded in realism and their track record of accomplishments.

Siddaramaiah critiqued the BJP for its unfulfilled promises, questioning the actualization of significant pledges such as depositing Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s account, generating 2 crore jobs annually, and ushering in better days for the populace. He contrasted this by highlighting the Congress Party’s commitment to its guarantees, having already allocated Rs 36,000 crores towards the implementation of various welfare schemes within just ten months, with an additional Rs 52,009 crores earmarked for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Chief Minister announced that the names of candidates for the remaining Lok Sabha seats would be disclosed by the start of the week, dismissing any speculation of internal discord regarding seat distribution as merely a phased approach to candidate announcement. Responding to inquiries regarding the potential nomination of ministers’ relatives and the implications of nepotism, Siddaramaiah maintained that candidate selection is deeply rooted in public preference and demand.

Furthermore, Siddaramaiah extended his best wishes for a rapid recovery to former Chief Minister H.D. Kumarswamy. He also convened a meeting with Congress leaders to strategize for the Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha elections, signifying the party’s comprehensive preparations for the electoral contest.

As the Congress Party gears up for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, Siddaramaiah’s statements reflect a blend of confidence in the party’s achievements and a strategic approach towards electoral success, setting the stage for a highly anticipated political showdown in Karnataka.
