New Delhi (Agency): DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has urged the members of the opposition bloc, known as the INDIA alliance, to quickly create a Common Minimum Programme (CMP). Speaking at an opposition meeting in Mumbai, Stalin emphasized that the CMP should act as the face of the alliance and offer a detailed plan for the nation’s future.

“That (CMP) will be the face of the INDIA alliance. The BJP regime has ruined the country in several ways. It (CMP) must present a road map to the people spelling out what we intend doing to undo it,” Stalin said during his address.

According to Stalin, the first priority of the INDIA alliance should be to remove the current BJP-led government and establish a new regime that upholds secular and democratic principles. He insisted that the CMP should lay out the policies and ideals required to bring about such a change. “Our first objective is to dislodge the BJP regime and install a government of secular, democratic forces at the Centre,” he stated.

Stalin went on to encourage all leaders of the parties opposed to the BJP to join the INDIA alliance. “In order to isolate the BJP, as far as possible, parties opposed to the BJP must be inducted into the alliance. I urge all the leaders to work with this in mind,” he added.

Stalin was optimistic about the goals of the INDIA alliance, emphasizing that the protection of Indian democracy is the core aim. “When the only goal is protecting Indian democracy, there is no doubt that the BJP will be defeated,” he said. Stalin also claimed that the name INDIA itself is causing “fear and fever” to the Saffron party.

The INDIA alliance aims to identify itself with the policies and ideals that are required to foster a democratic system by overthrowing the current autocratic regime. It seeks to become the face of opposition against the BJP and to provide a clear roadmap for a future that is both secular and democratic.
