Recording a statement before the Judicial Magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Panchal revealed he sustained 54 per cent burn injuries from the incident.

Agency(Haryana): In Faridabad, Haryana, a distressing incident occurred on the night of December 15th when Mahesh Panchal, brother of Nuh violence accused Bittu Bajrangi, was allegedly attacked and set ablaze. Responding to this grave event, Haryana Police swiftly established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the alleged attempt on Panchal’s life. The SIT, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Aman Yadav, is tasked with uncovering the facts behind this violent act.

The attack transpired when a group of unidentified men reportedly doused Panchal with a flammable substance and set him on fire. Panchal, enduring severe injuries, managed to return home around midnight in a critically burnt condition. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital by his family, as stated by the police on Thursday.

Recording a statement before the Judicial Magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Panchal revealed he sustained 54 per cent burn injuries from the incident. Due to the worsening of his condition, he was transferred from Faridabad Civil Hospital to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital for advanced treatment.

Meanwhile, Bittu Bajrangi, who is currently out on bail in the Nuh violence case and is also the president of the ‘Gauraksha Bajrang Force’, a cow vigilante group, expressed his concerns. Bajrangi indicated that he had feared an attack on his brother and now fears for his own safety.

The Haryana Police’s decision to form the SIT underscores the seriousness of the incident and the urgency to bring the perpetrators to justice. The case has garnered significant attention, particularly due to Bajrangi’s involvement in the Nuh violence and his role in the cow protection movement. As the investigation progresses, the SIT’s findings are awaited to shed light on the motives behind the attack and ensure that justice is served.
