Agency(New Delhi): Virendra Sachdeva, the President of Delhi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), announced a unique door-to-door invitation drive starting January 1, aimed at encouraging Delhi residents to visit the newly constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The temple is set to open for devotees following the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla on January 22, an event the party plans to celebrate as ‘Ram Utsav.’

During an organizational meeting of the Delhi BJP, Sachdeva revealed the party’s plans to distribute invitations between January 1 and January 15. The campaign will also involve discussions with temple committees to decorate temples across the city, where party members and supporters will listen to the Prime Minister’s speech from Ayodhya. Additionally, large LED screens will be installed in various locations for live broadcasts of the inauguration ceremony. Local markets are also expected to be adorned for the occasion, with consultations underway with traders’ associations.

The Delhi BJP chief emphasized that arrangements will be made in every ward of the national capital to facilitate devotees’ visit to Ayodhya’s Ram Temple post its opening. The meeting also saw participation from senior BJP leaders like national general secretary B L Santhosh and national vice-president and Delhi unit in-charge Baijayant Panda.

Santhosh expressed confidence in BJP’s prospects in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, urging caution and thorough preparation despite the perceived ease compared to the 2019 elections. He highlighted the challenges from not just political opponents but also ideological forces opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP leaders reiterated their commitment to win all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi for the third consecutive time in the 2024 elections. They discussed various ongoing campaigns and special initiatives like the e-Vistarak Yojana, Samarpan Nidhi Yojana, Good Governance Day, and Veer Bal Diwas, in addition to the Ram Mandir awareness campaign.

Santhosh called upon party workers from all 13,000 booths in Delhi to ensure the success of the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and booth empowerment campaigns. He also encouraged them to light lamps at their homes and visit temples with their families on the day of the Ram Temple’s consecration.

Panda reflected on the recent assembly election victories, stating that these successes have created a favorable environment for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He stressed the need to increase the victory margin in Delhi by reaching out to beneficiaries of Central government schemes.
