Agency(New Delhi): In a significant move leading up to the Lok Sabha elections commencing April 19, the Congress Party initiated its ‘Ghar ghar guarantee’ campaign from Delhi. This campaign seeks to extend the party’s reach to more than 80 million households across India, disseminating the promises encapsulated in the Congress manifesto.
Jairam Ramesh, the Congress General Secretary in Charge of Communications, outlined the campaign’s strategy, highlighting the distribution of guarantee cards to 8 crore families. These cards detail the five ‘nyay’ (justice) principles and 25 guarantees declared by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
The ‘Paanch Nyay’ pillars include ‘Yuva Nyay’ for the youth, ‘Naari Nyay’ focusing on women’s rights, ‘Kisaan Nyay’ for farmers, ‘Shramik Nyay’ advocating for labor rights, and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ ensuring equitable distribution and participation. These pillars form the core of the Congress’s election manifesto, which is slated for release on April 5. Following the manifesto’s launch, top Congress leaders will conduct major rallies in Jaipur and Hyderabad, underscoring the party’s commitment to these justice principles and election guarantees for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The manifesto, representing the culmination of nationwide consultations and thousands of suggestions received through email and the ‘Awaaz Bharat Ki’ website, aims to resonate with the wide spectrum of the Indian electorate. This initiative marks a critical component of the Congress’s election strategy, positioning it as a direct challenge to the BJP’s approach to manifesto preparation, which the Congress critiques as a last-minute and insincere effort.
