Agency (New Delhi): The Congress party has claimed a substantial milestone in its social media reach following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Supriya Shrinate, Congress’ social media head, presented data showcasing the party’s dominance over the BJP on major platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
According to Shrinate, Congress achieved 613 million views on YouTube during the election campaign, compared to the BJP’s 150 million views. This four-fold difference highlights a stronger connection between the Congress’ messaging and the public, addressing key issues such as inflation and unemployment that resonated with social media users.
“We have data that shows what people wanted to listen to and who they wanted to listen to,” Shrinate emphasized, underscoring the party’s strategic alignment with voter interests. This approach has evidently succeeded in the digital landscape, as reflected by the data collected between March 16 and May 30.
On Instagram, Congress averaged 122,000 likes, significantly outpacing the BJP’s average of 26,945 likes. Similarly, on Twitter, Congress’ average likes ranged from 2,500 to 3,000, while the BJP lagged behind with averages of 260 to 300 likes.
