“BJP Leaders Will Go to Jail After June 4 for Electoral Bond Scam”: AAP Leader Atishi

Delhi Minister Atishi asserts that BJP leaders, along with ED, CBI, and IT officers, will face jail time for the Electoral Bond scam once the INDIA bloc forms the government.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi declared on Tuesday that following June 4, when the INDIA bloc forms the government, the Electoral Bond scam will be investigated. She stated that not only BJP leaders but also officers from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and Income Tax (IT) department will face jail time.

Addressing a press conference, Atishi said, “I want to clearly tell the BJP that your end is near. The people of the country have made up their minds. After June 4, when the INDIA bloc forms the government, the country’s biggest Electoral Bond scam will be investigated. BJP leaders, along with ED, CBI, and IT officers involved, will go to jail.”

Atishi also responded to the Delhi High Court’s decision to deny bail to jailed AAP leader Manish Sisodia, stating that the entire liquor scam is a political conspiracy by the BJP. “We respect the High Court but respectfully disagree with this decision. This so-called liquor scam is a political conspiracy of the BJP, hatched when they couldn’t defeat AAP electorally and used ED and CBI against us,” she said.

Atishi highlighted the prolonged investigation into the liquor scam. “The investigation has been ongoing for more than two years, involving over 500 ED and CBI officers, more than a thousand raids, and eight charge sheets filed. Yet, not even one rupee has been recovered from any AAP leader. What kind of scam is this?” she questioned.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail petitions of Manish Sisodia, AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, in liquor policy cases. Sisodia, in custody since February 26, 2023, after his arrest by the CBI and subsequent arrest by the ED, sought bail in cases investigated by both agencies.

Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma, who pronounced the order, stated that the case involved grave misuse of power with the aim to create a beneficial policy for some, allowing kickbacks. The court allowed Sisodia to meet his ailing wife under custody once a week.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K Kavitha were also arrested in connection with the excise policy case.
