Tokyo [Japan]: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday showcased the state’s economic progress at the Uttar Pradesh Investment Roadshow in Tokyo, asserting that nine years of consistent policy reforms have transformed Uttar Pradesh into a leading global investment destination.

Addressing business leaders and investors, the Chief Minister described Uttar Pradesh as a vast consumption market with a population of 250 million and a strong pool of skilled manpower. He emphasised that 56 per cent of the state’s population comprises youth, making it a major workforce hub offering affordable and quality talent across sectors.

“Uttar Pradesh is known as the food basket of India and is also the state with the largest water resources,” he said, highlighting the state’s agricultural strength and natural assets.

The Chief Minister noted that Uttar Pradesh accounts for 95 per cent of India’s expressways and has the country’s largest rail network. He also pointed to major strides in air connectivity, stating that in the past nine years, the state has operationalised 16 domestic and four international airports. He added that the Noida International Airport, set to be India’s largest international airport, will soon become operational.

Inviting Japanese companies to explore opportunities in the state, Yogi Adityanath encouraged participation in the private industrial park programme and other emerging sectors. He said the results of various policy initiatives undertaken over the past nine years are clearly visible, with Uttar Pradesh emerging as one of India’s fastest-growing state economies.

Highlighting the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage, he said Uttar Pradesh is the birthplace of Lord Ram and holds key Buddhist sites associated with the life of Lord Buddha, making it central to India’s religious tourism landscape.

The Chief Minister arrived in Tokyo on an official visit aimed at strengthening investment ties and promoting industrial growth in the state. During his February 25–26 visit, he is scheduled to hold key meetings and interactions to enhance bilateral cooperation and attract investments to Uttar Pradesh.
