Swami Prasad Maurya of Samajwadi Party accuses BJP of winning elections through the “misuse” of Electronic Voting Machines.

Agency(Ballia): Swami Prasad Maurya, a leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its national general secretary, has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured its victories in recent state elections, including the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, through the “misuse” of electronic voting machines (EVMs). Maurya, who switched from the BJP to the SP in January last year, made these accusations while attending a Buddhist conference in the Rasra area of Ballia district.

He claimed with certainty that the BJP’s electoral wins are not attributed to Prime Minister Modi’s charisma but to the alleged manipulation of EVMs. Maurya went on to assert that if not for this purported misuse, the BJP would have been eliminated from the state in the 2022 UP assembly elections.

Additionally, Maurya criticized those he claims are falsely representing Sanatan Dharma, suggesting they lack a true understanding of its essence. He referred to Lord Buddha’s teachings, stating that what Buddha propagated is the real Sanatan Dharma, which is about equality and non-discrimination, much like how natural elements like the sun, air, water, and fire benefit everyone regardless of their social or religious distinctions.

Regarding disputes in Kashi and Mathura, Maurya accused some religious organizations of trying to disrupt societal harmony by raising these issues. He also spoke about Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s potential role in Uttar Pradesh politics, calling him the architect of opposition unity and welcoming his active involvement.

When questioned about Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati joining the ‘INDIA’ bloc, Maurya responded that the decision rests solely with Mayawati herself.
