Patna (Bihar), December 23: Newly appointed BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday held a roadshow in Patna, marking his first visit to Bihar after assuming the party’s national responsibility. The event showcased the party’s strength and drew a large turnout of leaders and supporters.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Saraogi, and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha accompanied Nabin during the roadshow. Party workers welcomed him with enthusiasm across the city.
Addressing the gathering, BJP MP Nityanand Rai said the BJP is the world’s largest political party, built on the dedication of its leaders and workers. He described Nabin’s arrival in Patna as a moment of pride for the state.
Later in the day, a welcome and felicitation ceremony is scheduled at Miller High School on Veerchand Patel Marg, where Nabin will address party members. He will also meet Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at 4:00 pm and chair a meeting with BJP MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and state party officials at the Atal Auditorium in the party office at 7:30 pm.
In the evening, Nabin will co-chair his first meeting with BJP MPs alongside National President JP Nadda. The meeting, to be held via video conferencing at 9:00 pm, will focus on finalising strategies for organising the Sansad Khel Mahotsav. During the session, Nabin will also be formally introduced to party MPs.
At 45, Nitin Nabin is the youngest working president ever elected by the BJP. He currently serves as Bihar’s Minister of Road Construction and is a five-time MLA. He was appointed National Working President on December 14, a move seen as part of the party’s broader effort to promote younger leadership.
According to party sources, Nabin’s appointment aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The BJP aims to develop experienced leadership well ahead of 2047, when India is expected to become a developed nation. The decision is also viewed as a strategic step to strengthen the party’s organisational structure and recognise leadership talent from across states.
