Thackeray Urges Farmers to Oppose Modi Government

Shiv Sena Leader Calls for Action Against Current Administration in Next Election

The Aryavarth Express
Agency(Maharashtra): In a compelling call to action at a public gathering in Karanja, located in Maharashtra’s Washim district, Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT), reached out to the farmers of India with a significant plea. Thackeray implored the agricultural community to stand united against granting the Narendra Modi-led government another term in office. The appeal underscored a series of grievances against the current administration, particularly its efforts to thwart farmer protests by implementing physical barriers on their march to Delhi. Such measures notably included the deployment of “thorns and nails” along the pathways, and the aggressive use of water cannons, lathi charges, and rubber bullets against the protestors, who were advocating for their right to a legally guaranteed Minimum Support Price, among other demands.

Thackeray articulated the feelings of betrayal experienced by the farmers and his political faction, Shiv Sena, criticizing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its treacherous behavior towards its allies. He accused the Modi administration of not just sidelining the farmers’ plight but also engineering rifts within pivotal Maharashtrian political entities, including the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Highlighting the BJP’s alleged penchant for duplicity, Thackeray pointed to the dissolution of the alliance between the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and the BJP in Haryana, which resulted in a significant political reshuffle, culminating in the appointment of Nayab Singh Saini as the new Chief Minister. Labeling the BJP as “dagabaaz” or betrayer, Thackeray, who ended his alliance with the BJP in 2019, condemned the party’s tactic of using and subsequently abandoning its political allies.

This clarion call by Thackeray aims to galvanize farmers and other disenfranchised groups, urging them to prevent the return of the Modi government in the upcoming general election. By spotlighting the deep-seated discontent among the rural and political sectors, Thackeray seeks to pave the way for a significant shift in the political landscape, advocating for a future where the grievances of the agrarian community and its supporters are duly acknowledged and addressed.
