Tejashwi Yadav Seeks Medical Attention Amid Campaign

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav undergoes MRI for severe back pain during intense Lok Sabha election campaigning.

Agency (New Delhi): Amidst the hectic schedule of the Lok Sabha elections, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), was compelled to seek medical attention due to escalating back pain. On the evening of May 6, Yadav underwent an MRI at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna.

Reports indicate that Yadav has been experiencing spinal discomfort for the past ten days, with the pain intensifying considerably over the last four days. Despite his health issues, Yadav maintained his campaign commitments and participated in rallies on Monday in Bihar’s Siwan and Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj, supporting candidates of the INDIA alliance.

Yadav expressed his political sentiments on his official X handle, stating, “The people have united to save the country’s constitution, reservation, and democracy. Addressed a huge public meeting organised in favour of INDIA alliance supported RJD candidate Awadh Bihari Choudhary in Raghunathpur Assembly under Siwan Lok Sabha constituency. NDA will lose, INDIA will win.” He also supported the INDIA alliance Congress candidate Akash Singh from Maharajganj.

The third phase of the general election, involving 93 Lok Sabha seats across 12 states and union territories, is currently underway. This phase includes constituencies in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. In this phase, the BJP has already secured the Surat seat unopposed.

Prominent figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Digvijaya Singh, and other key leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Mansukh Mandaviya are also contesting in today’s elections, which cover a significant portion of the seats won by the BJP in the 2019 general election. The elections are scheduled across seven phases, concluding on June 1, with the counting set for June 4.
