Agency(New Delhi): As India approaches the Lok Sabha polls, Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi emphasized the pivotal choice facing the nation, outlining the contrasting futures offered by the INDIA bloc and the BJP. Gandhi, in a series of posts on X, delineated the commitments of the Congress and the INDIA bloc towards employment for youth, secured constitutional rights, and specific pledges to uplift various sections of society. These include confirming the first job for the youth, guaranteeing the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers, aiming to make every poor woman a millionaire, ensuring a minimum daily wage of Rs 400 for workers, conducting a caste census and economic survey, and safeguarding the constitution and citizens’ rights.

Contrastingly, Gandhi critiqued the BJP’s governance as leading to unemployment, burdening farmers with debt, undermining the security of women, and perpetuating discrimination and exploitation against the underprivileged. He characterized the BJP’s rule as synonymous with dictatorship and a sham democracy, urging the electorate to deliberate carefully on their vote, framing it as a choice that determines the nation’s future.

Rahul Gandhi, who has filed his nomination from the Wayanad constituency for the upcoming elections, aims to replicate his 2019 victory, where he secured a significant vote share, highlighting Kerala as a stronghold for the Congress. With the UDF winning 19 of 20 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress looks to maintain its influence in Kerala, advocating for comprehensive reforms and policies that promise a better future for all segments of Indian society as part of its election campaign.
