The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Pune): Pune police have organized more than a dozen teams, consisting of around 100 personnel, to investigate various facets of the Porsche car crash case allegedly involving a minor driver. The crash, which occurred on May 19 in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, resulted in the deaths of two IT professionals traveling on a motorbike.

The police have registered three separate cases related to the incident. The first FIR pertains to the accident itself. The second case is against the bar that reportedly served liquor to the minor. The third case involves the wrongful confinement and coercion of the family driver to take the blame for the accident. The minor’s father, a builder, has been booked for allowing his underage son to drive without a valid license.

Pune Police Chief Amitesh Kumar stated that the minor’s father, grandfather, and mother have been arrested. The mother’s arrest followed the discovery that her blood samples had been substituted for her son’s. Additionally, two doctors from the state-run Sassoon General Hospital and an employee have been taken into custody for allegedly swapping the minor’s blood sample.

The police have invoked provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Juvenile Justice Act, Motor Vehicles Act, and the Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused.

To ensure a professional and comprehensive investigation, multiple teams have been deployed. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkawade detailed the structure of the teams: three teams, each with 8 to 10 personnel, are handling the three registered cases; two teams are focused on documentation; one team is dedicated to monitoring CCTV footage; three teams are engaged in technical analysis; three teams are conducting field operations; and there is one team each for escorting the accused and managing communication.

“This multi-faceted approach aims to cover all aspects of the investigation, ensuring thorough and meticulous handling of the case,” Balkawade stated.

As part of the investigation, the police have questioned the minor for about an hour at the observation home, in the presence of his mother. However, an official mentioned that the responses during the probe were not forthcoming.
