Agency(Uttarakhand): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at a rally in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, underscored the achievements of his administration, highlighting the contrast between the current strong government and past unstable ones. Speaking at the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp rally, Modi connected with the audience through cultural symbols and discussed the strategic advancements India has made under his leadership.

Modi’s speech detailed how his government’s stability has allowed for decisive actions such as the surgical strikes on terrorist havens, the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the introduction of a law against triple talaq, and the implementation of reservation policies for women and economically disadvantaged general category citizens. He claimed these actions have strengthened India’s security and social fabric.

The Prime Minister also addressed the long-standing issue of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ for ex-servicemen, stating that his government has distributed over one lakh crore rupees, significantly more than the previous governments had proposed. He criticized the prior administrations for inadequate military support, including a lack of bulletproof jackets and modern equipment for soldiers, claiming that his government has now provided Made-in-India bulletproof jackets and advanced military hardware.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, hosting the event, lauded Modi for his lifelong dedication to advancing India’s status globally. Dhami highlighted several local projects, such as the Haridwar-Rishikesh corridor and the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line, which have been pursued with central government support.

The rally also served as a platform for Dhami to contrast BJP’s governance with the Congress, criticizing the latter for its stance on the Muslim Personal Law and advocating for the Uniform Civil Code, which aims to standardize legal provisions across all citizens irrespective of religion.

This gathering in Uttarakhand, which is seen as a stronghold for Modi given his historical connections and previous electoral success in the state, marks a critical moment as the BJP seeks to consolidate support ahead of the upcoming elections.
