PM Modi Criticizes Congress Over Sam Pitroda’s ‘Skin Colour’ Remarks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi rebuked Congress for Sam Pitroda's comments on skin color and criticized Rahul Gandhi for the party's stance.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress party on Wednesday over remarks made by its leader, Sam Pitroda, regarding skin color. He emphasized that the nation will not tolerate insults based on skin color.

During an election rally in Warangal, Telangana, Modi criticized top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing the party of attempting to defeat President Droupadi Murmu in the presidential election because of her dark skin color. Pitroda’s comments, which sparked controversy, implied that people from Eastern India resembled the Chinese, while those from Southern India looked like Africans.

Modi expressed his anger, stating, “If anyone abuses me, I don’t get angry. But the philosopher of ‘shehzada’ (prince) gave such a big abuse which has filled me with anger.” He questioned, “Will the ability of people be decided in my country on the basis of skin color? Who gave the permission to ‘shehzada’ for this game of skin color?”

He condemned the Congress for insulting people based on skin color and demanded answers from Rahul Gandhi, referring to him as ‘shehzada’. Modi also questioned why the Congress sought to defeat Murmu in the 2022 presidential elections despite her reputation.

Modi implied that Sam Pitroda, whom he referred to as an uncle and philosopher of Rahul Gandhi, had revealed a significant secret by stating that those with dark skin are from Africa. He accused Pitroda of insulting many people in the country.

Modi further mentioned that regardless of skin color, Indians worship Lord Krishna, whose skin color represents all people.

In a separate rally at Vemulavada in Karimnagar, Modi criticized the Congress over the “Ambani-Adani” issue. He demanded an explanation for why the party had stopped raising the matter, insinuating that a deal had been struck. “For the past five years, Congress’ ‘Shehzada’ abused Ambani-Adani, and now it has stopped. Has tempo loads of notes (money) reached the Congress?” he questioned, implying corruption.

Modi alleged that for five years, Congress accused Adani and Ambani, but this ceased suddenly, suggesting they received illicit money. He challenged Congress to explain the sudden change.

During the rally, after the third phase of general elections, Modi claimed that the latest phase had significantly impacted Congress and its INDI Alliance, leaving them desperate for seats. He predicted that after the fourth phase, they would need a microscope to find seats.

Modi asserted that the BJP and NDA were progressing towards victory with the people’s support. He criticized both Congress and the BRS, led by K Chandrasekhar Rao in Telangana, for prioritizing family over the nation. He accused both parties of corruption while pretending to oppose each other.

Modi also took a veiled swipe at Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, referring to discussions about the “double R (RR)” tax in the state. He claimed that Congress planned to eliminate reservations for SC/ST and OBCs to benefit Muslims.
