Agency(New Delhi): During a public rally in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a vehement critique of the Congress party, accusing it of political and religious exclusion. Modi claimed that Congress not only rejected the invitation to the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya but also expelled party leaders who attended the temple on their own.

“The Congress has shown that it can cross any limit for appeasement. Their manifesto bears the imprint of the Muslim League, ignoring the real needs of the people,” Modi stated. He emphasized that while Congress leaders shunned the temple event, his administration continues to prioritize the welfare of the poor, citing extensive benefits delivered through central government schemes over the past decade.

Highlighting the cultural significance of the newly constructed Ram Mandir, Modi remarked, “With Ram Navami approaching, it is significant that Lord Ram will bless us from a grand temple instead of a tent for the first time in 500 years. This fulfillment of a long-standing dream holds particular joy for Chhattisgarh, the ‘nanihaal’ of Lord Ram.”

Modi’s speech also targeted the Congress for their electoral and governance strategies, contrasting them with the BJP’s efforts to fulfill its promises on the ground. He reaffirmed his commitment to working tirelessly toward making India a developed nation by 2047, declaring, “I am not here to rest, but to work.”

The political atmosphere in Chhattisgarh is charged as the state prepares for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with voting scheduled in three phases on April 19, April 26, and May 7. The results will be announced on June 4. In the last general election in 2019, the BJP secured nine out of eleven parliamentary seats in Chhattisgarh, leaving only two for the Congress.
