Agency (Uttar Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Bansgaon, Uttar Pradesh, made strong accusations against the opposition INDIA bloc, claiming they are receiving support from Pakistan and jihadis. Modi alleged that prayers are being read in Pakistan for the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress, who he claims are appealing for “vote jihad.”

Modi stressed the significance of June 4, 2024, as a decisive day for India’s future. “June 4, 2024, is going to decide the future of India. The country will spread its wings and take a new flight on June 4 towards the resolve of ‘Amrit Kaal,’ building a developed India, and fulfilling the dreams of 140 crore Indians. Millions of people are eagerly waiting for that day. On June 4, the countdown of India’s race to become the third-largest economy will also begin,” he stated.

The Prime Minister criticized the opposition for their stance on key issues, including Article 370 and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He said, “The INDI alliance says they will reinstate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and repeal the CAA, which grants citizenship to refugees. This is exactly what anti-India forces want; why does the INDI bloc want the same?”

Highlighting the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Modi praised his efforts in combating mafia activities in the state. “Mafias have built mansions even on the government’s land under the Samajwadi party. Palaces of mafia built on public land during SP rule are being torn down to make houses for the poor. ‘Lekin jab se Yogi ji aaye hain, mahaul hi badal gya, mausam bhi badal gya. Hamare Yogi ji, acche acchon ki garmi utaarne me expert hain’,” he said.

Modi also accused the Congress of obstructing India’s progress in the defense sector, specifically mentioning the BrahMos missile. “It won’t be long before BrahMos missiles are manufactured in UP. The BrahMos missile is in demand worldwide, but Congress created roadblocks for countries wanting to purchase it. The INDI bloc doesn’t want India to become self-reliant in defense or to export weapons; they prefer foreign arms deals that bring them commissions,” he asserted.

The Prime Minister emphasized the benefits of his government’s schemes, highlighting that millions of people are waiting for June 4 to benefit from various initiatives, including housing, healthcare, and the Mudra scheme. “Those 3 crore poor who will get pucca houses, elderly people above 70 years of age who will get free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakhs, crores of youth who will be benefitted out of Mudra scheme, those 3 crore sisters of self-help groups who will become ‘Lakhpati didi’ and crores of people who will be getting free electricity under PM Surya Ghar scheme are waiting for June 4,” he said.

In the previous 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a majority, winning 62 out of 80 seats. The upcoming elections will determine the continuation of this dominance. Bansgaon, represented by BJP leader Kamlesh Paswan, is one of the constituencies where voting will be held on June 1.
