Agency(Nagpur): In Nagpur, Sharad Pawar, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), conveyed that the general sentiment among the populace is now veering away from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a media briefing, Pawar highlighted that there hasn’t been any decision regarding who will lead the INDIA alliance as the prime ministerial candidate.

Pawar articulated, “It’s evident that people’s attitudes have shifted, now reflecting opposition towards PM Modi.” He further criticized the current administration for undermining various institutions.

Upon being questioned about how the seat distribution within the INDIA bloc for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would eventually pan out, Pawar humorously remarked that he couldn’t predict the future, stating, “I am not an astrologer.”

In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to Sanjay Singh, an AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP embroiled in a money laundering case tied to the Delhi excise policy, Pawar expressed approval. “This development is positive,” he commented, suggesting that Singh had been wronged and implying that the truth would soon emerge.

Discussing alliances, Pawar expressed a desire to include Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi in their fold, despite them fielding candidates in certain constituencies.

Regarding the potential impact of the NCP split on his faction’s election chances, Pawar maintained an optimistic stance. He believes that voters will back candidates who have a strong chance of defeating the BJP.

When queried about his amicable relationship with Nitin Gadkari possibly influencing the NCP’s decision not to contest against the Union minister, Pawar denied any such implications. Similarly, on the matter of his daughter, Supriya Sule’s electoral battle in Baramati against Sunetra Pawar, the wife of his estranged nephew Ajit Pawar, he maintained a neutral stance, emphasizing that the election results are still pending.

Pawar also addressed PM Modi’s preparation for his government’s third term by acknowledging Modi’s comprehensive planning. Finally, regarding China’s unilateral actions in renaming locations in Arunachal Pradesh, Pawar criticized the government for neglecting national interests, underscoring a perceived lack of seriousness in handling the country’s sovereignty issues.
