The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Bengaluru): Recognizing the importance of preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage while pursuing the path of modern development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a comprehensive plan under its “Modi ki Guarantee for Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi” as part of its election manifesto.

The party pledges to undertake significant new projects to develop religious and tourist sites across the country, inspired by the successful model of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi. The BJP aims to create world-class infrastructure and amenities around these sites to enhance the spiritual and cultural experience for visitors and devotees.

The manifesto also highlights the BJP’s commitment to the holistic development of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, as millions of devotees from around the world are expected to visit the city following the construction of the grand Ram Temple. The party aims to develop Ayodhya as a global spiritual and tourist destination, with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.

To preserve and promote India’s ancient knowledge systems, the BJP proposes to continue the digitization of manuscripts and epigraphs in mission mode, and establish a dedicated scholarship program to encourage research on these invaluable resources. The party also aims to set up the Bharatiya Sanskriti Kosh, a comprehensive repository of India’s cultural heritage, using cutting-edge technology for preservation and dissemination.

The manifesto also promises to expedite the construction of the Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum, envisioned as a world-class facility showcasing India’s glorious history and cultural diversity. The BJP aims to make this museum one of the most visited and appreciated cultural institutions globally.

Recognizing the need to protect India’s cultural intellectual property, the BJP proposes to collaborate with domestic and international organizations to develop harmonized legal standards for safeguarding traditional knowledge, art forms, and practices. The party also pledges to support the translation of Indian literary works into foreign languages to promote India’s rich literary heritage globally.

To promote academic and cultural exchanges, the BJP aims to organize a triennial International Conclave on Bharatiya Knowledge Traditions, bringing together scholars, practitioners, and enthusiasts from around the world to discuss and celebrate India’s intellectual and cultural contributions.

The manifesto also highlights the BJP’s commitment to preserving and developing Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) monuments, leveraging technology and partnerships to make these sites more accessible and engaging for visitors. The party aims to strengthen the Swadesh Darshan program, working with state governments to develop tourism circuits around the lives and teachings of great saints and philosophers.

Other key initiatives include developing thematic tourism circuits showcasing India’s border villages, ecotourism hotspots, river cruise destinations, island getaways, and adventure tourism hubs; promoting India as a preferred destination for international weddings; and celebrating the legacy of Lord Ram through a global outreach program and the Ramayana Circuit.
