Agency(New Delhi): The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has successfully removed encroachments on a vast tract of government land, measuring approximately 2.30 lakh square meters and valued at an estimated Rs 460 crore. This operation was carried out in the village of Sunpura on the directive of GNIDA CEO N G Ravi Kumar, highlighting the authority’s commitment to preserving government-owned land.

The encroachment, involving illegal plotting and construction by colonizers within the notified areas of Sunpura village, was dismantled on Tuesday. Despite the issuance of notices by the GNIDA, the illegal occupants failed to vacate the premises, leading to a decisive action involving the demolition of unauthorized structures and boundaries with the aid of earth movers, conducted over a span of three hours.

Annapurna Garg, Additional CEO of GNIDA, issued a stern warning against illegal land occupation within the authority’s jurisdiction, advising the public against investing in plots offered by colonizers who have unlawfully seized the land. She urged individuals who have already purchased such plots to report to the police and provide the authority with a copy of their complaint to facilitate legal action against the perpetrators.

CEO N G Ravi Kumar emphasized the prohibition of illegal construction within Greater Noida’s notified areas, urging potential land buyers to consult with the authority to verify the legitimacy of their investments. This initiative underscores GNIDA’s resolve to combat illegal encroachments and ensure the integrity of land transactions within its domain, safeguarding the interests of legitimate buyers and the community at large.
