Major Gambling Ring Busted in Delhi, 18 Arrested

Delhi Police's special staff in West District cracked down on a gambling racket in Rajouri Garden, arresting 18 individuals and seizing over Rs 3.5 lakh.

Agency (New Delhi): In a significant operation, the Delhi Police’s special staff of the West District successfully dismantled a gambling racket operating out of a DDA flat in Rajouri Garden. The raid, conducted on February 16, led to the arrest of 18 individuals, including the organizer Anurag Singh, a resident of the DDA flat.

The police seized a substantial cash amount of Rs 3,56,070 during the operation. Additionally, five packs of playing cards, which were presumably used in the gambling activities, were also recovered from the site.

DCP West Vichitra Veer provided details of the operation, stating, “Upon receiving secret information about the gambling activities in Tagore Garden, Rajouri Garden, a raiding team was immediately formed. The swift action resulted in the apprehension of 18 individuals engaged in gambling and the recovery of a significant amount of cash along with gambling paraphernalia.”

Following the raid, a case was registered under sections 3, 4, 9, and 55 of the Delhi Public Gambling Act. All accused individuals were apprehended as part of the crackdown. This operation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts of the Delhi Police to curb illegal gambling activities in the city.
