Khera Criticizes BJP, Highlights Plight of Delhi’s Poor

Delhi's poor reflect national issues, says Congress's Pawan Khera.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): Congress leader Pawan Khera asserted on Monday that the condition of the poor in Delhi reflects the state of the nation, suggesting that if the situation of those living in Delhi’s JJ clusters is dire, it indicates a similar plight across the country.

During a press conference at the Delhi Congress office, Khera accused the BJP government of taking revenge on Delhi since it has not been re-elected in the national capital since 1998. “Being the capital of the country, Delhi’s issues are national issues. Delhi is a reflection of what is happening in the country,” Khera stated.

He emphasized that the poor condition of daily wage earners and residents of JJ clusters in Delhi mirrors the national scenario. “Today, if the condition of daily wagers and our brothers and sisters living in JJ clusters is poor in Delhi, then you must know that this is a reflection of the entire country. You can get an idea of what has been happening in the country for the last 10 years by looking at Delhi,” he added.

Khera also highlighted the significance of the word ‘Nyay’ (justice), often used by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating it represents the essence of the Constitution and the ideology of the Congress Party.

Polling in Delhi is scheduled for May 25, with the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party contesting in alliance in the national capital.
