New Delhi (Agency): Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan praised Kerala as a shining example of progressive ideas and inclusive development during his address to members of the diaspora community from the state at a public event in Times Square. Highlighting the state's achievements over the past six years, Vijayan emphasized Kerala's progressive values, social harmony, and equitable growth.
According to Vijayan, Kerala has made significant strides in various sectors, including infrastructure development, investments in public schools and healthcare, and overall economic growth under his administration. He emphasized that the state serves as a model of inclusive development and a testament to people-centric progress. The chief minister stated that Kerala's policies prioritize compassion, social justice, and empowerment of marginalized communities, fostering equal opportunities for all.
Vijayan pointed out that Kerala's commitment to communal harmony and peaceful coexistence has contributed to its success. The state has been recognized as the most literate in India, with its government schools and hospitals receiving accolades as the best in the country. Notably, Kerala has maintained an exemplary law-and-order situation, with no instances of communal violence in recent years.
During his address, Vijayan also highlighted Kerala's achievements in food safety, having formulated an action plan that led to the state's top position in the national food safety index. He called upon the Malayali diaspora, both in the United States and worldwide, to continue cooperating with the state government to further prosperity in their homeland.
In May, Kerala achieved a historic milestone by becoming India's first fully e-governed state. Vijayan described this achievement as a significant step in the internationally acclaimed Kerala model of development and social progress. Through e-governance initiatives, the state is championing transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity, providing seamless access to over 900 diverse public services through online platforms.
Vijayan's address in Times Square served as a platform to showcase Kerala's achievements and progressive values to the global Malayali community. The chief minister's message resonated with the audience, receiving cheers and applause as he highlighted the state's commitment to social justice, unity, and a brighter future for all.
As Kerala continues to make strides in various sectors, Vijayan urged the diaspora community to support and cooperate with the state government in its ongoing efforts to foster inclusive development and prosperity. The event served as a reminder of the significance of the Malayali diaspora's role in shaping the future of their homeland and reinforcing Kerala's reputation as a beacon of progressive ideas.
