“Karnataka Model” Launched by Congress: DCM Shivakumar

Karnataka's Deputy CM DK Shivakumar asserts the Congress government has introduced the progressive 'Karnataka Model' to the nation.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (Bengaluru): Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar declared on Monday that the Congress government has pioneered the ‘Karnataka Model’ for the country. Speaking to the media at Vidhana Soudha following the Governor’s address, Shivakumar emphasized that the government has embodied the philosophy of ‘Nudidanthe nade’ from Basavanna, translating to ‘practice what you preach’. He accused the Prime Minister of emulating this model in his campaign.

Shivakumar highlighted the accomplishments of the Congress government, stating, “Our government has achieved in six months what others couldn’t in the history of the country. The Opposition is struggling to accept this reality.”

Regarding the BJP leaders’ decision to wear saffron shawls to the Session, Shivakumar remarked that individuals are free to wear what they choose, noting that saffron is not the exclusive symbol of any one party. He stressed the importance of practicing dharma in politics, but criticized the BJP for politicizing religion. Shivakumar reiterated his commitment to prioritizing the state’s development over political or religious symbolism.

He further commented on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, mentioning that the Congress manifesto will be people-centric. At a meeting of the Congress Manifesto Committee on February 10, Shivakumar asserted that the manifesto would be inclusive, benefiting all societal segments. This approach mirrors the strategy employed in the Assembly election, where the Congress introduced a five-guarantee scheme based on similar principles.
