High-Security Wedding for Delhi Gangster

Delhi's Santosh Garden turns into a high-security zone for the wedding of gangster Sandeep "Kala Jathedi" and Anuradha Choudhary, featuring metal detectors, drones, and armed commandos.

Agency(New Delhi): A notable security transformation has occurred at a Delhi banquet hall, Santosh Garden in Dwarka Sector-3, which now resembles a secured fortress, in preparation for the marriage ceremony of notorious gangster Sandeep, also known as Kala Jathedi, to Anuradha Choudhary, known by the moniker ‘Madam Minz’, scheduled for March 12, as per official reports released on Monday.

In an effort to mitigate any potential gang-related violence or the risk of Sandeep’s flight from custody, Delhi Police has devised a comprehensive security strategy. The venue, positioned seven kilometers from Tihar Jail, was secured for the event by Sandeep’s legal representative for a sum of Rs 51,000.

Security measures include the installation of doorframe metal detectors at the entrance and the issuance of barcode wristbands to guests. Furthermore, vehicle entry is restricted to those possessing the necessary pass for nearby parking, as explained by a member of the Delhi Police force.

Surveillance efforts are intensified with over six CCTV cameras and drone monitoring to oversee the event’s proceedings. The marriage ceremony will be conducted under the vigilant eyes of 250 police officers, inclusive of SWAT team members equipped with advanced weaponry. The security detail amalgamates personnel from special units, the crime branch, Haryana’s Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), with oversight also being provided by officers from the Rajasthan Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Undercover police operatives, armed yet in civilian attire, will further ensure the event’s security. The local police have been briefed with a guest list comprising 150 names submitted by Sandeep’s family. Moreover, service staff at the event will be identifiable through issued ID cards.

Sandeep, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana, and a figure with a bounty of Rs 7 lakh on his head, has been granted a six-hour parole for his nuptials by a Delhi court. He is currently incarcerated in Tihar jail and is associated with the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi. His criminal record spans across multiple states with charges including robbery, murder, and extortion.

Sandeep’s criminal undertakings have also involved contract killings and extortion schemes targeting businessmen. His history includes a dramatic escape from Haryana Police custody in 2020 and orchestrating a breakout for an associate from Delhi Police custody in 2021.

Given these precedents, Delhi Police is leaving nothing to chance, ensuring a tightly secured convoy from Tihar Jail to the wedding venue and back. Per court orders, Sandeep’s marriage is permitted from 10 am to 4 pm, followed by a return to his hometown for post-wedding rituals under heavy police escort, ensuring his immediate return to custody thereafter.
