Delhi Braces for Farmers’ Protest Traffic

Delhi Police release traffic guidelines for Tuesday's anticipated farmers' protest.

The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): In anticipation of the farmers’ protest scheduled for Tuesday, the Delhi Traffic Police have released an advisory to inform commuters about vehicular movement restrictions at the city’s three border points.

A coalition of farmer groups is organizing this march to push for a Minimum Support Price (MSP) law for their crops. This demand was one of their key conditions for ending their 2021 protests.

The advisory suggests alternative routes for travelers heading towards Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, and other areas via National Highway 44 (NH-44). Commuters can exit NH-44 at Alipur Cut, use the route through Shani Mandir, Palla Bakhtawarpur Road, Dahisara Village Road, and Singhu Stadium to rejoin NH-44 towards Sonipat. Another option involves detouring via DSIIDC Cut, passing Harish Chander Hospital Red Light, Sector-A/5 Red Light, and Ramdev Chowk to reach the borders.

For those traveling to Bahadurgarh, Rohtak, and nearby locations, the police recommend taking the DSIIDC Cut, proceeding along Bawana Road, and passing through Kanjhawala Chowk, Nizampur Border, and adjoining roads.

Due to the situation at Gazipur border (Delhi-Uttar Pradesh), traffic diversions have been implemented. Travelers from Delhi to Ghaziabad via Gazipur border can use Pushta Road near Akshardham temple, Patparganj Road/Mother Dairy Road, or Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg at ISBT Anand Vihar, exiting at Maharajpur or Apsara border in UP Ghaziabad.

Vehicles heading to Haryana via Apsara, Maharajpur, Loni, Sabhapur, and Sonia Vihar Borders along NH-44 can divert through Dabur Chowk, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur Road, GT Road, Delhi Meerut Expressway, and Dasna, taking a left onto the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and then Rai Cut to reach NH-44. Alternative routes include Inderpuri Loni, Puja Pavi-Panchlok, Mandola, Mussoorie, Khekra, or the Service Lane of Delhi Dehradun Expressway, turning left to Panchlok, Mandola, Mussoorie, Khekra, and then left to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Rai cut to NH-44. Additionally, Tronica City Marg to Tronica City, a left turn onto Delhi Dehradun Expressway, Mandola, Mussoorie, Khekra, then left to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and Rai cut can be used to access NH-44.
