This event is part of a broader initiative to heighten public awareness regarding the perils associated with drug and narcotic use. The occasion also serves to commemorate the golden jubilee of the Karnataka police, marking a significant milestone on March 10, 2024.

During his speech at the event’s commencement, the Chief Minister highlighted the growing concern over drug abuse among the youth. He emphasized the state’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace from Bengaluru, striving towards a healthier, drug-free environment.

“This initiative reflects our dedication to ensuring a greener, healthier Bengaluru where the well-being of our citizens is a priority. The alarming trend of drug abuse among our youth necessitates a concerted effort to combat this issue. It is imperative that we foster a sense of awareness regarding drug abuse and cybercrime among the populace,” articulated Siddaramaiah at the ‘Police Run Programme’.

In a parallel effort to underline the significance of the golden jubilee celebrations and reinforce the message of fitness and a narcotics-free society, the police forces of Kalaburagi City and District spearheaded a marathon titled ‘Karnataka Police Run’. This marathon resonated with the themes of ‘Fitness for All’ and ‘Narcotics Free Karnataka’, encapsulating the dual objectives of promoting physical well-being and a drug-free state.

These initiatives, championed by the Karnataka state government and the police department, underscore a collective endeavor to address and mitigate the challenges posed by drug abuse. Through these public events, the authorities aim to foster a community that is both physically fit and free from the clutches of narcotics, contributing to the broader goal of a safer, healthier Bengaluru.
