The Aryavarth Express
Bengaluru (Karnataka): In a significant relief to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, a special court in Bengaluru has accepted the ‘B’ report filed by the Lokayukta in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam case, effectively giving a clean chit to the Chief Minister and his wife, B.M. Parvathi.

The Special Court for People’s Representatives accepted the report on January 28. The Lokayukta, endorsing the police findings, stated that there was no evidence to warrant further investigation against Siddaramaiah and the three other accused named in the case.

The case pertains to allegations surrounding the allotment of 14 residential plots by MUDA to Parvathi in 2021 in Mysuru’s Vijayanagara area. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), meanwhile, has been probing related allegations concerning the acquisition of 3.16 acres of land owned by Parvathi in Kesare village by MUDA.

According to the allegations, Siddaramaiah allegedly used his political influence to secure 14 high-value sites in his wife’s name as compensation for land measuring three acres and 16 guntas acquired by MUDA. The land was reportedly acquired for ₹3.24 lakh, while the value of the allotted plots in a prime locality was estimated at approximately ₹56 crore.

On August 19, 2024, the Karnataka Governor granted sanction under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, allowing an investigation against the Chief Minister. Subsequently, on September 24, 2024, the Karnataka High Court upheld the Governor’s sanction and observed that a probe into the allegations raised in the complaint was justified.

Earlier in 2025, Karnataka Minister H.K. Patil stated that the judicial commission headed by P.N. Desai, which was probing the alleged MUDA scam, had also given a clean chit to Siddaramaiah and his family.

Speaking to reporters, Patil said the commission’s findings had cleared the Chief Minister and his family of any wrongdoing in the MUDA matter. “P.N. Desai, chairman of the judicial commission, has given a clean chit to the Chief Minister and his family in the MUDA case,” he said.
