The Aryavarth Express:
Sivaganga (Tamil Nadu), April 10: A motorcyclist was injured after meeting with an accident during actor-turned-politician Vijay’s roadshow in Karaikudi on Friday.
According to visuals from the scene, the rider lost control and skidded on the road as Vijay’s convoy passed through the area. Several other motorcyclists were also seen riding without helmets, with some attempting to take selfies during the procession, raising safety concerns.
Tamil Nadu is set to vote in a single phase on April 23, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 4. The election is expected to witness a key contest between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) — which includes Congress, DMDK, and VCK — and the NDA led by AIADMK, along with the BJP and PMK.
Vijay, who is making his political debut with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is aiming to position the election as a three-cornered contest.
Earlier this week, while addressing a public meeting in Tirunelveli, Vijay criticized both major alliances. He described the DMK-led bloc as a “cash box alliance” and claimed that both the DMK and BJP-led alliances share a common goal of preventing his political rise.

He further alleged that his entry into politics has exposed corruption within both camps, leading to growing opposition against him.
