Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], March 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar on Tuesday during his visit to Gujarat, where he will also unveil and lay the foundation for multiple development projects worth over ₹20,000 crore.
The museum, named after Samrat Samprati—grandson of Emperor Ashoka and a revered figure in Jain tradition—showcases the rich cultural, historical, and spiritual legacy of Jainism, particularly its emphasis on non-violence and propagation of the faith.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Vav-Tharad to launch key infrastructure initiatives. A major highlight is the inauguration of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, an access-controlled highway built at a cost of over ₹5,100 crore.
He will also lay the foundation stone for several road projects, including the four-lane Idar-Badoli bypass, the upgradation of the Dholavira-Mauvana-Vauva-Santalpur road, and key flyovers at Bhaijipura Junction and PDPU Junction. These developments aim to ease congestion and improve connectivity on the busy Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad corridor, which handles more than 1.4 lakh vehicles daily.
In the energy sector, Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Khavda Pooling Station-2 and related transmission systems, developed at an estimated cost of ₹3,650 crore, to support renewable energy evacuation and strengthen grid infrastructure.
Railway projects will also be a key focus, including the dedication of the Kanalus-Jamnagar doubling project, the Gandhidham-Adipur rail section upgrade, and the Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma gauge conversion. A new train service between Khedbrahma, Himmatnagar, and Asarwa will also be flagged off.
Additionally, 44 urban development projects worth around ₹5,300 crore will be launched, alongside major healthcare initiatives such as an 858-bed Rain Basera facility at Civil Hospital in Asarwa and similar infrastructure in Gandhinagar.
Tourism projects include a light and sound show at Rani ki Vav in Patan, a water screen projection show at Sharmishtha Lake in Vadnagar, and new infrastructure at Balaram Mahadev and Vishweshwar Mahadev in Banaskantha to boost cultural tourism.

In the water sector, two major pipeline projects—the Kasara-Dantiwada and Dindrol-Mukteshwar pipelines—worth around ₹1,780 crore will be dedicated to the nation. A new water supply scheme for Ambaji and surrounding villages will also be launched.
The visit will also see the foundation laying of three Sabarmati Riverfront expansion projects in Gandhinagar district, with a combined investment of about ₹1,000 crore, along with the inauguration of a Government Boys Hostel in Vejalpur, Ahmedabad.
