Mumbai (Maharashtra): Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, known for acclaimed titles like Talvar, Raazi, and Sam Bahadur, has kicked off the final shooting schedule of her upcoming film Daayra, featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
Sharing an update on Instagram, Meghna posted a picture of a car loaded with bags—signalling the team’s departure for the last leg of filming. She captioned it, “Final Schedule. Here we go Team #daayra.”
Earlier in September, Kareena and Prithviraj had offered fans glimpses from the film’s first day of shoot. Kareena wrote, “Day 1. 68th film Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi… Send love and blessings.” Behind-the-scenes moments included look tests, script readings, discussions with Meghna, and a special visit from veteran lyricist Gulzar, who spent time interacting with the cast and crew.
Prithviraj also shared his enthusiasm, posting, “#Daayra is officially rolling… A new story, a new journey that challenges and excites in equal parts.”
At the film’s announcement earlier this year, Kareena expressed excitement about collaborating with Meghna Gulzar, calling herself “a director’s actor,” while Prithviraj described the story as one that stayed with him from the moment he heard it.
According to Meghna Gulzar, Daayra explores themes that push viewers to reflect on society and its institutions, promising a powerful narrative driven by strong performances and compelling storytelling.
