Washington DC:
Actor and singer Mandy Moore has shared candid thoughts about the emotional mix of gratitude and sadness she feels as she comes to terms with likely not having any more children, according to E! News.
The This Is Us star, who shares three children—sons Gus Harrison (4) and Ozzie Bennett (3), and daughter Louise Everett (16 months)—with husband Taylor Goldsmith, reflected on the moment in a recent Instagram Story. While attending a routine check-up, Moore acknowledged both appreciation for her family and the emotional weight of closing this chapter of her life.
“I am endlessly grateful for my beautiful family, and there’s a certain sadness knowing I’m done having babies and won’t be pregnant again,” she wrote, also asking fellow mothers if they had experienced similar feelings.
The 41-year-old has often spoken openly about the rewards and challenges of motherhood. Earlier this year, she celebrated her first Mother’s Day as a mother of three, calling motherhood the most meaningful experience of her life. She noted that while it comes with constant worry and planning, the joy far outweighs the challenges.
Moore also expressed appreciation for the mothers around her who offer guidance, support and reassurance, saying they help her feel less alone on her parenting journey.
Previously, Moore addressed conversations around age and pregnancy during an appearance on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast in June. Speaking about having her third child at 40, she questioned the label “geriatric pregnancy,” noting that many women today have children later in life due to choice, circumstance or biology.
She added that she struggled with how systems often treat older mothers as anomalies or high-risk cases. “We’re not too old or too complicated,” Moore said. “We’re just human beings,” as quoted by E! News.
