The Aryavarth Express Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday announced a financial package of ₹5 crore for development works in Shujalpur during the centenary celebrations of the Shujalpur Nagar Palika Parishad.
Addressing the event virtually from Bhopal, the Mohan Yadav said ₹3 crore would be allocated for constructing a new building for the municipal council, while ₹2 crore would be used for other development projects, including road works within the municipality.
Speaking during the celebrations marking 100 years of the Shujalpur municipal body, Yadav said the milestone reflects the collective spirit and progress of the town’s residents.
“The centenary year of the Nagar Palika Parishad is a celebration of respect for every citizen of Shujalpur. It reflects our heritage, achievements and shared determination for progress,” he said. He also credited the blessings of Jatashankar Mahadev for the successful completion of 100 years of public service and welfare by the municipal body.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Chief Minister extended greetings to people across the state and the country on the occasion of Holi. He highlighted several initiatives of the state government, including the formation of a farmers-focused cabinet and a hike in the dearness allowance for government employees.
“Our government has ensured that farmers can celebrate Holi with joy through initiatives like the Kisan Cabinet. We have also increased the dearness allowance of officers, employees and pensioners by 3 per cent, demonstrating our commitment to all sections of society,” he said.
The state government has declared 2026 as Krishak Kalyan Varsh (Farmers’ Welfare Year), under which multiple agriculture-related initiatives are being implemented. Recently, the state organised its first agriculture cabinet meeting in Barwani district, where projects worth ₹27,746 crore aimed at benefiting farmers were approved.
During the meeting, the cabinet also decided to continue several farmer-focused schemes for the next five years, reaffirming the government’s focus on strengthening the agricultural sector.
