Agency(Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the significant potential of health tourism in the state, leveraging the AYUSH medical system. During an AYUSH Department event, he voiced his confidence in the system’s ability to provide holistic healthcare solutions, alongside generating employment opportunities and augmenting farmers’ incomes through AYUSH-based agriculture.

Adityanath emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s historical connection with Ayurveda and tasked stakeholders with elevating AYUSH medical practices. He stressed the importance of research and farmer engagement to explore the vast potential within the health tourism sector through AYUSH methodologies.

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to inaugurate 271 development projects, which encompass integrated AYUSH hospitals, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, girl student hostels, e-libraries, and various construction projects across homeopathic and Ayurvedic departments, with a total investment of Rs 238 crores.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the AYUSH Mission in Uttar Pradesh has rapidly gained public trust, as illustrated by the day’s inaugurated projects. Adityanath reminisced about India’s ancient reliance on herbal medicine and criticized the neglect of these traditional methods, underscoring the importance of their revival and promotion.

The establishment of the Ministry of AYUSH and its endorsement by PM Modi, Adityanath noted, has not only fostered a domestic resurgence in traditional medicine but has also captured global attention, especially highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a strategic move to enhance the AYUSH system’s efficacy, the Chief Minister announced the formation of a new directorate within the AYUSH department. This structural change, transitioning from separate directors for each AYUSH form to a unified director general, aims to improve coordination and amplify the impact of traditional healthcare practices in Uttar Pradesh.
