Agency(New Delhi): In a significant development for health and wellness at India’s judicial headquarters, the Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud, officially opened the ‘Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre’ within the Supreme Court of India’s compound. The inauguration event, held today, was graced by fellow Supreme Court judges and key figures in the Ayush sector, including Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, the Minister of Ayush, and Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Minister of State for Ayush.
The establishment of the Ayush Wellness Centre marks a collaborative effort between the Supreme Court and the All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the event to formalize the partnership, detailing the operational and expert service provisions for the center.
Justice Chandrachud, expressing his personal commitment to Ayurveda and holistic living, highlighted the importance of the wellness center for over 2000 staff members of the Supreme Court. Emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach to health, he mentioned his dedication to promoting a holistic lifestyle for not only the judges and their families but also for the entire staff.
The inauguration was also attended by key officials from the Ministry of Ayush, including Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, along with Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda. Their presence underscored the significant collaboration between the judiciary and the Ayush ministry.
The newly launched wellness center is designed to provide comprehensive care, focusing on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the Supreme Court’s judges and staff. The state-of-the-art facility aims to promote overall health and wellness, leveraging the expertise of the All India Institute of Ayurveda.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Supreme Court, in cooperation with the AIIA, to establish holistic and integrated wellness centers. Similar to other AIIA centers located at various prestigious institutions like LABSNA and Safdarjung, the Supreme Court’s Ayush center is a testament to the judiciary’s commitment to the health and well-being of its members.
The Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre represents a significant stride in blending traditional health practices with modern judicial environments, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of holistic health in high-stress professions.
